Deep Ellum Brewing Company founded by John Reardon, is the first Dallas brewery of its generation to open in Dallas, Texas(the first Dallas brewery was The Dallas Brewing Co. established in 1889). DEBC was first tapped at the Anvil Pub in Deep Ellum November 11, 2011 and DEBC had its grand opening of the brewery December 17, 2011. Located in the funky side of town, Deep Ellum Brewery keeps it edgy with their Dallas Blonde Ale that “goes down easy”. If you like hops then the Deep Ellum IPA is your beer (and my favorite local IPA). Made with Amarillo hops, which adds a nice grapefruit citrus-floral flavor with a clean bite of bitterness. Other year round beers on tap at the brewery are the Rye Pilsner and the Double Brown Stout(this beer is a great addition to any chili or stew recipe). Other seasonal beers are often available at the brewery to sample as well, like the Oak Cliff Coffee Ale, Chocolate Cherry Stout, or currently the Tongue Punch(limited batch).
While at the brewery get a tour from Zack Fickey- “Event Planning Ninja”. You may even run into one of the brewers, Jeremy Hunt- Head Brewer and David Hauptman- Brewer, to help get you educated on Deep Ellum’s craft beer brewing process. There is always great live music to enjoy while hanging out in the beer garden and you can even bring your dog along for the fun. Brewery Tours are on Thurday 6-8:30 p.m. and Saturday 12-3 p.m. $15 gets you a DEBC glass (they are always changing, collect them all), three beer tokens and the tour. Grab some grub from a tasty food truck. Hang out, make new friends, drink good beer.
Deep Ellum Brewing Co. is located at 2823 St. Louis Street, Dallas, Tx 75266

A Few Tips: Deep Ellum Brewery is popular, arrive early to beat long beer lines(go on a Thursday for a smaller crowd). Parking is limited at brewery. Park on Taylor St./Malcom X Blvd.(behind red brick building). Last call is 15 minutes prior to closing, so drink up. Cheers!
